I have been using ovulation strips for about 3 months now.

Iv heard a lot of mixed reviews about them but have a questions for the ladies that use them! This is the 3rd day I have gotten a faint positive. Does that usually mean iv missed my peak day or it hasn't come yet? My ovulation app on my phone says my peak day isn't for a few more days but it was totally wrong last month.

faint line on ovulation test now nothing

So confusing!!! What do you mean by a faint positive? A positive will either be exactly the same colour as the test strip, or darker. If it's lighter, it's negative. Do you have a photo? Here's alway lh in your system so you'll almost always see a line in an opk even if it's very faint.

It doesn't mean anything. Mine often went from faint to positive with no warning. They don't necessarily get slightly darker leading up to a positive. Test around 2 pm.

Faint ovulation test line?

That's usually when most women pick up their surge on an opk. The surge doesn't last long. Iv never even seen a second line before untill now I see a very faint line. That's why I am questioning it! I didn't know there could be a faint line and it still means negative. Thanks ladies. I have the signs for ovulation, the sticky clear discharge and slight cramps. That's normally how I know I'm ovulating. But I guess the text strips are negative!! I have a 2nd line every test I take. Sometimes it looks almost exactly the same as the test line, but if the test line is even a shade darker, it's negative.

They can look really similar so if you aren't sure, maybe ask your husband if one line seems darker than then other. Make sure to test 2 times a day, around 10 and 4, or 12 and 6. Don't bother with first morning urine because the hormone isn't produced until later in the morning.

You could have a real positive for more than a day - your surge can be as short as a few hours or as long as a day. As soon as you see a real positive, count that one. Then have sex that day, and the next 2 days.I've never had this happen to me before, so I was wondering if it was normal.

I tested yesterday with an OPK for the first time this cycle. I got a faint, faint pale pink line. Today I tested twice and both times there was absolutely no line at all. I haven't ovulated either I can tell from my temps.

Has this happened to anybody? Do you know what it means? Was my body gearing up to ovulate then stopped? I think the stress of yesterday a friend's going through a tough time and me wanting O to come badly put O off.

What crand are you using? I use first response, and their instructions say a faint line means nothing All OPK's no matter what brand say that a faint line means nothing. For it to be positive the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

When this happens you are having a LH surge and you will most likely O within hours of the positive test. I just keep testing from about day 15 until I get a dark line positive. Normally, they get progressively darker over 5 days or so until I get a positive. However this time since the line went away instead of getting darker I was scared that O wasn't going to come.

Just panicking myself obviously. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy! Already have an account? Sign in here. By IamtheMumma Started 7 hours ago. By Kallie88 Started July 7. By Marinated. Started Friday at AM.

Is this normal? I was expecting the line to get darker over the days, not disappear entirely.

faint line on ovulation test now nothing

This is the first time I've used them so just looking to hear your experiences. Last month I noticed a dark shade but not yet postitive and then it lightened the next day and got dark again the following day until positive. Make sure you limit your liquids two-three hours before and test at the same time each day. But this cycle I am geting the varying light shades too. Yesterday was cd12 so I started testing with the OPK ovulation predictor kit - yesterday there was a faint line, clearly seen but faint, today cd13 nothing - no line not even a faint one!

So I waited about 3 hours, didnt drink held my pee and just did another one and again nothing, no line not even a hint of a faint one! I like you would have expected the line to be darker today, however frustrating it is I guess I'll have to be patient and wait until tomorrow and test again! Let me know how you go and I will do the same for the rest of this week - hopefully we see that dark line soon and havent missed the surge, however would be very early in the cycle I would think to have ovulated already!?!?!

I'll let you know how it goes and keep me posted as well. What brand are you using? Now what?! I have this issue all the time.

I will get a faint one then then next day a little darker and then the day after nothing. Also I have never gotten a positive OPK ovulation predictor kit but have gotten an almost positive. Even without drinking anything I have issues with holding my pee in for hours. I naturally go once an hour as is. Ditto on the normal comment above. Within the window is fine. I usually have the fade in pattern and can predict from when it is about half the darkness of the test line when it will be positive.Never test in morning, before 10 am, fmu is not reliable so test between pm but not between They do need to be darker for a positive, confusing isn't it, Test between but reduce liquid intake 2 hours before testing I test at 10 ish then 1.

If it is faint it usually means that the LH surge is coming but you need to wait for it to be darker, like the control line. Does a faint line on an ovulation test mean I am about to ovulate?

How exciting : thank you.A friend of mine has been on chlomid and has to do an ovulation predictor test every morning for the next 9 days. This is day 3 and she got a faint line, whereas the two days before she got nothing. Does this mean that she might be about to ovulate?

Should she test again today? I just don't want her miss something here. Thanks for any imput. If she had two days of nothing, then a faint line today, it does indeed sound like ovulation is imminent.

The ovulation predictor test will pick up the LH surge that triggers ovulation, it does not mean she is ovulating that moment. The surge can last hours. If she wants to because it can be expensiveshe can take another test this afternoon to see if the line is getting darker. If so, then she is having her surge. However, for a positive test, the test line MUST be as dark or darker than the control line.

It could happen this afternoon, tomorrow or the next day. Once she gets a positive, that means she should expect to ovulate anywhere from hours later.

I have never done OPKs but from what I have read, its best to take them between the hours of 10 am after being up for a few hours and 4 pm. Taking them first thing in the morning can give "off" results concentrated hormones from all night's worth of urine production while taking them too late in the day can result in very diluted hormone due to all the liquid intake during the day.

It is also recommended to wait days after the last Clomid pill before using OPK's because the Clomid can cause false readings. You don't say what cycle day she is on, but it appears that its time for her to start having regular sex at least every other day.

To get an exact positive the colours must match or be darker than the control line. Having said this on some tests there is only so dark they go and others you will have faint line althrough the month. Another thing could be her body is gearing up to have an LH surge, which causes ovulation.

Some times that is shown as a line getting gradually darker until it is actually surging. I get this. Aug 28, PM in Trying to conceive. As the question says really, do ovulation sticks get darker the nearer you get to ovulation? This is my 2nd cycle off the pill after a reeeeeeeeally long first cycle so no idea on when i am due AF or ovulation!

I have done some cheapy ovulation sticks for the past 3 days and todays, although still not as dark as the test line was darker than the previous 2. So i'm wondering if ovulation is approaching? I know you can have a certain amount of LH in your system throughout your cycle so guess this could just be another thing to mess with our already pre-occupied minds, lol! Thanks in advance. Sep 29, PM. I'd say BD lots until your lines start to fade lol!! Thanks girls.

We haven't BD since Saturday night so will get to it tonight just incase! Have heard so many different things about these ovulation sticks it's hard to know what to trust! Fingers crossed!
